My Botswana Safari Adventure

Botswana is a home to a plethora of wildlife as well as prolific bird life. Its natural features have turned out to be national parks, for example the Kalahari, desert which attracts many travelers despite experiencing seasonal flooding. The flooding is caused by spilling waters from the Okavango River, which covers about 15,000 sq. km in the middle of the desert.

The longer overnight safaris normally involve camping out. It would be a great way to brace the natural environment of the region and experience the exotic side of Botswana like never before! It is true though it is probably not that good of an idea for the faint of heart!

The Okavango River is one of the longest in Africa. While the head of the Okavango is located in Angola, in south central Africa, it continues from there, southward, eventually entering the small, southern country of Botswana.

The Khama Rhino Sanctuary is one of the best stopovers when you're on your safari holidays in Botswana. Here, you will not only find the remaining rhinos in Botswana but also other big game such as the leopard, gemsbok, hartebeests and brown hyena. The sanctuary has an excellent viewing place with exemplary accommodation facilities for travelers.

The area is perfect for outdoor adventures since it is an ecosystem to over 200 species of birds, 40 species of mammals and around 90 species of fish. The Okavango River pours over 27,000 million litres of water to the flat and scorched Kalahari Desert daily.
